Executive Career Management and ECM Group, Inc are the brain child of Bickford Henchey, one of the pioneers in the form of management consulting which is commonly called Outplacement, and now often referred to as Careeer Transition.
"Bick" entered the industry in 1976 after a successful career as a corporate executive in management and marketing in banking services, computers and communications products. During his career, he held senior positions at Chase, The Singer Company, IBM, Dictaphone, Collins Radio and The American Bankers Association.
He founded and led one of the first firms to be dedicated to career management services in 1978. He also has been associated with other major firms in the field and has been successfully coaching senior executives for over 25 years. A graduate of The Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania, he was one of the founders and served as Director and Officer of the Association of Outplacement Consulting Firms.
Bick's close association with, and knowledge of, major corporations and industries both domestic and international adds important dimensions to The ECM Group's capabilities. His reason for forming The ECM Group, Inc. was because the "outplacement" business was becoming all things to all people. He thought that senior executives were being short changed by traditional outplacement firm's programs that did not meet their coaching and service needs.
Bick Henchey found that other highly experienced consultants recognized the same need for a firm devoted solely to the needs of senior executives. The results have been outstanding.
